The Compromised Trilogy - Sam, Jolinar, Daniel, Stargate SG-1 fic
Title: The Compromised Trilogy
Fandom: Stargate SG1
Episode Setting: Early through to late Season 2
Rating: PG-13 (language, violence, mature themes)
Length: ~330,000
Characters: Sam, Jolinar, Daniel, and SG-1 mainly, but also Sha're, Martouf/Lantash, Hammond, Garshaw, Jacob Carter, Selmak, Vala, Jean Miller, and a few dozen or so more minor characters (both canon and OCs).
Pairings: This is 95% gen, but brief attention is paid to canon marriages.
Summary: Sam and Jolinar escape the ashrak, but leave the SGC in a lurch and themselves with all the cards stacked against them in a hostile galaxy. Gen. AU off In the Line of Duty. Sam and team centric.
Author's Notes: This is my magnum opus—it started off as a simple "what if" AU, and turned into a retelling of both Season 2 and the character journeys of the main characters. It's about identity, loyalty, family, and how people choose to shape and rely on those things in turn. Something you should probably know before starting: this is an entirely different timeline, and since the story is told from deep within the characters' POV, there are no explanations for most of the changes to canon timeline. I do have a reason for everything that was changed, though, so if you're confused, feel free to comment and ask a question about a plotpoint.

You should definitely watch it! It gets better in later seasons, but all the way through it's probably the most consistently fun sci-fi show I know.

This is the first fic I've read in a long time that I turned around and started re-reading immediately :)

Excellent character voices, excellent fleshing out the canon world-building, but most significant to me was your nuanced handling of the host-symbiote relationship. Just...ever-loving-wow. The concepts are imaginative and consistent, distinct voices for everyone and pitch-perfect internal dialog. The shift from the unnaturally disconnected, jarring, abrasive relationship Sam & Jolinar have, to the blended relationship was beautifully shown. They remain themselves in dialog and actions and voice, but the harmony is crystal clear.

Extrapolating just how subtle a marriage connection would be come after centuries was great, too :) Martouf & Jolinar need so little action or so few works....to feel or express so much. Lovely.

There's not enough Tok'ra fic out there, and very little of it is good ;P Even less of it is long and elegantly thought out. Thank you for this!
